Cloud Jumper

What I feel really brings this whole project together is the music. I took great pride in creating the music and was ecstatic how it turned out. I feel it brings a sense of fun and whimsy to the title, and helps to encourage help to continue playing.

I also implemented a structure for the difficulty of the game. I laid out plans for a simple difficulty structure from 1 to 5. Each difficulty level would appear based on how high the player has progressed, with higher difficulties reducing the amount of large platforms, increasing the amount of small platforms and disappearing platforms, and naturally increases the amount of hazards experienced.

I gained a lot of experience from this project in terms of patience and acceptance, as well as improving on my skills in level design.

Cloud Jumper was the final production piece for my first year at AIE. This assignment called to reimagine an arcade machine game. We chose to create a vertical endless runner, similar to that of Doodle Jump.

This project proved to be challenging at times, attempting to make a fun and engaging game, whilst making it welcoming to people of all ages and game experience. Eventually though we found that right balance.
